To All friends of the Hispano Roundtable of New Mexico:
To all friends of the Hispano Round Table of New Mexico:
The Hispano Round Table of New Mexico (HRTNM), a 501c3 non-profit organization, and our impressive member organizations proudly announce our 22nd Annual Tribute to Hispano Legislators on Wednesday evening, January 27th, 2016 starting at 5:30 PM to be held at the world famous and legendary La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fé, NM. Here is your chance to meet and greet our New Mexico Hispano Legislators, our New Mexico Congressional Delegation and all of our Legislators from across New Mexico. Last year’s event was amazing and completely sold out!!
This year's recurring theme is “1912 – 2016 Celebrating 104 Years of the New Mexico Constitutional mandate “Perfect Equality” in our schools, places of work, anywhere and everywhere in English and Spanish; Celebrating over 524 Years of Hispano History, Heritage and Culture – our unique Land of Enchantment”. We plan to bring forward the issues surrounding the Hispano/Latino Education & Economic Crisis and bring innovative solutions to the forefront. It is time for strong and courageous leadership to steer our ship to the lands of true economic prosperity and sound industry for New Mexicans first!! Our State and our future depend on a healthy economy deeply rooted in our educational system and effective economic development policies. We will be honoring all of our Hispano Legislators who, through their tireless public service, bring to fruition the hopes and dreams of so many.
The HRT “Walking the Talk” awards will be given to those New Mexicans whose work
& spirited efforts are creating CHANGE in our community. Nominations are being sought throughout our community for individuals demonstrating such change. We will continue to Honor our brave Hispano Veterans who sacrifice so much for our country and community: "Homenaje a nuestros Veteranos Hispanos" or "Homage to our Hispano Veterans". This is the 6th year that we will include this special tribute to honor the tremendous sacrifices, contributions and service of our New Mexico Hispano Veterans. We will continue to honor New Mexico Hispano Veterans from all wars with our Medals of Valor and Honor Awards presented to Hispano Veterans from 7 different Wars: WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Shield & Desert Storm, Iraq and Afghanistan.
The HRTNM deeply appreciates your participation in honoring New Mexico’s Hispano Legislators, Hispano Veterans and Community Leaders along with others making a difference in our community. These efforts help us to continue advocating for educational statewide programs such as our own incredible NM ENLACE programs, UNIDOS programs and continue the hard work of creating equity and justice in our community. We invite you and your organization to join us once again in honoring our distinguished guests. Contribution categories for this year's Dinner are as follows:
